But what happens when you have a sweet tooth or want to celebrate Halloween with treats?

Thankfully, there are plenty of healthy ways to indulge!

These are so good, you won’t even miss conventional Halloween candy. Take a look. 

1. Dark Chocolate Coconut Chips: Unlike most candy, including milk chocolate, dark chocolate is fantastic for your body. It contains antioxidants that help improve heart health, brain function, and insulin sensitivity.    

Coconut is also great for your health. It contains a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). MCTs are believed to aid in gut health, weight loss, and fat metabolism. 

Dark chocolate and coconut work perfectly together. The sweetness of coconut offsets the bitterness of dark chocolate to make for a delicious treat. Try making dark-chocolate-covered coconut chips with this simple recipe.

2. Homemade Honey-Roasted Nuts: Store-bought honey-roasted nuts can contain several ingredients that are not good for your health, including multiple types of preservatives and even high-fructose corn syrup. 

However, you can make honey-roasted nuts right from home so you can control what ingredients you use. Try this recipe

Nuts are a great source of protein, unsaturated fatty acids, and fiber. Some research suggests that nuts are great for your heart. They can help reduce your LDL (bad) cholesterol by up to 19%. 

3. Baked Apples: As the saying goes, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" Apples are the perfect treat for satisfying a sweet tooth. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and polyphenols, which may protect against several chronic diseases. 

Research shows that those who eat apples regularly have a significantly reduced risk of developing cancer, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity. 

Making baked apples is simple: cut them into chunks, add melted coconut oil and ground cinnamon, and lay them on a sheet to bake for 20–30 minutes with the oven set to 350°F. 

4. Trail Mix: Trail mix is a simple and healthy treat. You can add whatever you like to the mix: nuts, seeds, dried fruit, grains, dark chocolate, or coconut. 

Trail mix is an excellent source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Make your own at home to avoid added sugars, colors, and preservatives. 

5. Homemade Gummies: Gummies have always been a fun treat for kids. However, they can be packed with sugar and additives. 

You can make your own at home using natural fruit juice and honey for sweetness. Give this recipe a try.
